I Love Lucy Day
October 15 1951 and the first episode of I Love Lucy aired on the Columbia Broadcasting System. The American television sitcom, originally set in a New York City apartment building, centers on Lucy Ricardo (played by Lucille Ball) and her singer/bandleader husband Ricky Ricardo (played by Desi Arnaz).
I Love Lucy became the most popular television show of the 1950s and remains one of the most beloved series in American television history.
