glee-spin-off-lea-michele-chris-colfer-and-cory-monteith

Ryan Murphy finally speaks up after his statement about Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith leaving "Glee" at the end of season 3 was amended by fellow executive producer Brad Falchuk. Murphy reveals that when he said so, they were planning to make a spin-off starring the three actors.

"When I did that interview, what was happening was we were asked to investigate doing a spin-off and it was a spin-off specifically for three of them, Chris, Cory and Lea," the "Glee" creator says in an interview with Deadline. He even had discussed the project with the three stars who showed interest.

The spin-off would be set in New York with The Juilliard School being considered to be used as a backdrop, but some of the actors were not thrilled about moving to another city. However, the project is now put on hold after report that the "Glee" stars found out they were fired from Twitter made headlines.

MORE MURPHY'S LAWS

  • The Rossemblat Graphic Insult Theory: When any technological change is made, we have a graphic insult curve. No mater how high the insult curve climb, the important thing is how long it goes.
  • Bahaman's Law: for any given software, the moment you read software reviews and manage to master it, a new version of that software appears.
  • The new version always manages to change the one feature you need most.
  • In today's fast-moving tech environment, it is a requirement that we forget more than we learn.
  • It is simple to make something complex, and complex to make it simple.
  • Measurements will be quoted in the least practical unit; velocity, for example, will be measured in 'furlongs-per-fortnight'.
  • In electronics repair the part with the highest failure rate will always be located in the least accessible area of the equipment.

FOOD AND TRAVEL … MEXICO

MEXICO

MEXICO

The Mexican sensibility for enchanting influences is also brought to the table in its food, particularly during celebrations. Mexican cuisine has an overriding Spanish influence, with a twist of French and African thanks to its history. Corn and bean-based dishes are prominent – prepared in a multitude of world renowned ways including tacos, enchiladas and quesadillas. And who could forget the worm that waits at the bottom of a bottle of Mezcal?

“TWO AND A HALF MEN” NEW PROMO SHOT

ashton-kutcher-takes-mic-two-and-a-half-men-promo-photo

Ashton Kutcher has taken the spotlight in another promo photo from "Two and a Half Men" season 9. The new cast member of the sitcom stands behind a microphone and is sandwiched between his co-stars, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones, in the image.

The three of them wear similar black and white outfits with the famous red curtain as the backdrop of the picture, but Kutcher is the only one who wears a red bow tie. The other two actors, meanwhile, don black bow ties.

This pose is similar to the opening title of "Men" which saw Charlie Sheen, Cryer and Jones lip-synching the theme song of the series. However, this time Kutcher takes the centre spot, while Jones is moved to the side which previously featured the Charlie Harper depicter.

MORE THINGS HUMANS SHOULD LEARN

  • It takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.
  • You can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you'd better have a big weenie or huge boobs.
  • You shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.
  • You can keep puking long after you think you're finished.
  • We are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.
  • Regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades, and there had better be a lot of money to take its place.
  • No matter how you try to protect your children, they will eventually get arrested and end up in the local paper.
  • The people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away.

RUSSELL CROWE WANTS TO BE JAVERT IN “LES MIS”

russell-crowe-0019

Decades after it became a Broadway hit, the musical “Les Miserables” is again wending its way to the big screen, this time under the guidance of director Tom Hooper. It was recently announced that triple threat Hugh Jackman was in serious negotiations to star as Jean Valjean and that, although there hadn’t been a formal offer, Hooper wanted Paul Bettany for the other plum male role, Inspector Javert, the lawman who pursues reformed convict Valjean.

However, let’s throw another hat into the ring–Vulture reports that Russell Crowe is lobbying for the role of Javert. A Jackman-Crowe musical would probably be the most manly musical ever. It seems like they would have to find a way for Javert and Valjean to box, or get involved in a hardcore soccer match.

Word is that Bettany is still the front runner, though, because Hooper is stuck on him. Hooper did win an Oscar this year, so you’d think he’d have some pull, but the studio might push for Crowe because he’s a much bigger name. Bettany’s not on Russell Crowe’s level in terms of star power.

For Russell Crowe in a musical …..

FOOD AND TRAVEL … SPAIN

SPAIN

SPAIN

Best in Barcelona, Catalan cooking is racking up the accolades from gourmands around the globe. Like other regional Spanish cuisines, Catalan cooking favours spices such as saffron and cumin, as well as honeyed sweets. A mixture of ingredients and traditions adds flair to Barcelona’s fare: using seafood and meats in a rich array of sauces. Dinner is the main event, but never before 9pm.

THESE SENTIMENTS WILL NEVER BE ON A GREETING CARD.

  • "Thanks for being a part of my life! I never knew what evil was before this!"
  • "Congratulations on your promotion. Before you go, would you like to take this knife out of my back? You'll probably need it again."
  • "Someday I hope to get married, but not to you."
  • "Happy Birthday! You look great for your age - almost life like!"
  • "I knew the day would come when you would leave me for my best friend. So here's his leash, water bowl and chew toys."
  • "We have been friends for a very long time, what say we call it quits?"
  • "I'm so miserable without you, it's almost like you're here."
  • "Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. Did you ever find out who the father was?"

HARRISON FORD TO PLAY WYATT EARP

1583

Apparently Harrison Ford enjoyed his role as an Old West cowboy in the upcoming “Cowboys & Aliens,” as he is sort of returning to that type of role. Heat Vision says that Ford has signed on to play legendary western lawman Wyatt Earp in “Black Hats.”

Kurt Johnstad is adapting Max Allan Collins’s novel (published under the pseudonym Patrick Culhane). Collins wrote the graphic novel “Road to Perdition,” which became a Sam Mendes film starring Paul Newman, Tom Hanks, and Jude Law.

SYNOPSIS:

The Prohibition era has just begun, the Wild West a fading memory, and Wyatt Earp is making ends meet as a detective in Los Angeles. To help the late Doc Holliday’s son, Wyatt goes east, where his onetime deputy, Bat Masterson, is New York’s top sportswriter. Wyatt and Masterson face a showdown with a new breed of badmen—mobsters led by Brooklyn’s brutal young Al Capone, in a takeover of young Holliday’s hot new speakeasy. As the ’20s (and machine guns) roar, the lawless lawmen enter a glittering world of showgirls and cafe society, of gangsters and gamblers, where their legends may even end as Scarface Al’s begins.

ANNUAL BAD WRITING CONTEST

Person writing in book uid

A SENTENCE in which tiny birds and the English language are both slaughtered took top honours in an annual bad writing contest.

Sue Fondrie of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, won the 2011 Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest for her sentence comparing forgotten memories to dead sparrows, said San Jose State University Professor Scott Rice.

The contest asks writers to submit the worst possible opening sentences to imaginary novels.

Fondrie wrote: "Cheryl's mind turned like the vanes of a wind-powered turbine, chopping her sparrow-like thoughts into bloody pieces that fell onto a growing pile of forgotten memories."

The University of Wisconsin professor's 26-word sentence is the shortest grand prize winner in the contest's 29-year history, Professor Rice said.

Contest judges liked that Fondrie's entry reminded them of the 1960s hit song The Windmills of Your Mind, which Professor Rice described as an image that "made no more sense then than it does now".

The contest is named after British author Edward George Bulwer-Lytton, whose 1830 novel Paul Clifford begins with the oft-quoted opening line "It was a dark and stormy night".

The contest solicits entries in a variety of categories. John Doble of New York won in the historical fiction category:

"Napoleon's ship tossed and turned as the emperor, listening while his generals squabbled as they always did, splashed the tepid waters in his bathtub."

To take the prize for best purple prose, Mike Pedersen of North Berwick, Maine, relied on a thesaurus'-worth of synonyms:

"As his small boat scudded before a brisk breeze under a sapphire sky dappled with cerulean clouds with indigo bases, through cobalt seas that deepened to navy nearer the boat and faded to azure at the horizon, Ian was at a loss as to why he felt blue."
